True Wisdom: No Ego to Observe Ego

True Wisdom: No Ego to Observe Ego

Summary:

The concept of “true karma” or “reality” is based on the idea that our intentions, thoughts, words, and actions are interconnected and impact the world around us. Buddha taught that every lifeform has the potential to choose between the “blind gate” or the “awakened gate” in each moment and that true wisdom begins with observing the self without attachment to the ego. Through practices such as the Heart Sutra, one can develop a deeper understanding of causation and free will and eventually purify one’s karma to become a Buddha and help others. Some systems that can aid in this practice include the Hell Bodhisattva system and the Amitabha Buddha Pure Land System.

We learn our hearts through what we have created.

What we have created follows the system of causation:

Intention -> Thinking -> Speaking -> Action

That is why true karma is not your intention and thinking because that is inside.

True karma, reality, is on the outside.

So who you connect to is essential.

That is one reason the Buddha explained spending time with spiritual consciousness – those interested in developing characters of kindness, caring, enjoying life and freeing the mind – is so important.

In the beginning, intention and thinking are only possibilities.

Once it goes into the outside world, the causation expands outwards like a pond ripple. And we will feel the effect back to us like a reflection.

Understanding – No Ego

No Ego doesn’t literally mean no ego.

Otherwise, who is learning? Who is teaching?

No ego refers to being free to wisely select and play different egos to match life.

In Buddhism, there is a philosophy called:

1 Heart, 2 Gates | 一心分明 | Yī xīn fēn míng.

This philosophy uses causation to describe free will for every life, every second.

Every life’s ability in each second is either;

  • choosing the blind gate – creating suffering for self and others now or in future; or
  • choosing the awakened gate – creating wisdom and joy for self and others now and in future.

So all lifeforms have equal potential in this way.

One difference between a Buddha and ourselves is Buddha, every second, chooses the awakened gate.

No Ego – to choose the awakened path of wise action

We cannot choose the awakened gate yet, but we can learn. That is why awakened teachers help developing consciousness, like us.

They would not waste their time teaching us if we can never become awakened.

If our heart doesn’t have the ability of 1 Heart and 2 Gates, then there is no free will to choose our future.

Because it’s our free will to create through the blindness gate and learn to be wise, our hearts can create using both gates.

Free will to be blind and have suffering in our lives, or free will to choose awakened and brightness in our lives.

Every life always has this potential there.

To care for both gates, we must awaken our understanding of causation and our intention, thinking, speaking, and action.

True wisdom begins with – No ego to observe ego.

No ego to observe ego means using eternal wisdom in the present to observe ourselves.

This practice above, The Heart Sutra, calls Observing Self Being.

Observe our own life with no-I to learn all the wisdom from blindness and wise experience.

Both good and bad are blind egos—limited ways to see life.

So we can create a new principal: A No-I cause – as the basis for awakened ability—a pure Wisdom-I.

This pure Wisdom-I is free from good/bad judgemental ego.

We can grow true spiritual roots in this zone.

As we practice the 4 Eternal Hearts, we will develop pure spiritual karma.

The longer and deeper we practice, the more space from our regular human-I will appear.

We can then observe the “Earth Human-I.”

Once we can see through that as an illusion, we can purify our karma deeper.

Some systems to practice from here are the Hell Bodhisattva system and Amitabha Buddha Pure Land System.

According to Shifu – together, using both systems is the fastest way to become Buddha ourselves to help others in the One Heart, Two Gates illusion.
