Sifu: Why is life incredible?

GD: Constantly changing, never repeating. Illusion power is already incredible because it can constantly change and never repeat, with unlimited combinations.

GD: Comes from others, so it’s empty—and still can appear. That’s already incredible magic. Just like fire can appear from thin air—complete magic—but yet in such a consistent way that we think it’s real. Which is crazy.

Sifu: It’s not real, but it’s so consistent that it can make us feel it’s real. Okay, so that’s incredible. What else makes you feel life is incredible?

GD: Essence is empty. Each life is aware of this illusion. That awareness ability has no form. This is incredible. What even is that? You’re aware, but it’s no form. Then you’re aware of all this form that’s constantly changing, comes from others, in a perfectly organised way to appear so that every life can experience it in their own causation or style of experiencing it.
Humans see a certain range of colours, bees see another, dogs different again. An ant sees a huge mountain, a human sees a small room with a bed—all in the one space, same moment.

Sifu: Same moment—every life aware, different in their own way.

GD: Yeah, and it could even be the amount of information too. We see a certain colour spectrum, or hear a certain sound spectrum. We could be in a room and a dog is going crazy, but we as humans don’t even hear the sound. So there’s so many different layers.

Sifu: So in the same space, we can be aware of totally different dimensions. Crazy. Truly unlimited.

GD: Yeah, like they can send radio waves through the air, but you won’t pick it up without the perfect receiver to fine-tune it.

Sifu: Wow—and that’s just one frequency. But there are unlimited frequencies.

GD: Yeah, just like there are mobile phones running right now, transferring all kinds of crazy frequencies.

Sifu: So the power to let us be aware in all unlimited ways is incredible.

GD: Then all that can be organised back into a clear system of three eternal Dharma truths, and then organised into—

Sifu: Then all this incredible power can be described in such short words. And that’s incredible Dharma wisdom itself. Short words to make all this incredible power appear. So that’s like three eternal Dharma philosophy—explaining is incredible. And that Dharma itself is also incredible, because it can make all the other incredible power appear in such a short and organised way.

GD: Yes, and then in all that information and everything else, the fact that it’s not random—because it’s through a causation system.
If it was random, my mouth would suddenly be my foot. There would be no system, no order—maybe even no changing. So I couldn’t even talk. Not aware of anything.

Sifu: No changing, no life. Aware of nothing. So it’s not random—and that’s incredible. Unlimited ways, but nothing is random.

GD: Yes. And then for the life involved in it, it could seem random—which is even more crazy.

Sifu: So because of our blindness ego, it can appear random.

GD: Or if you have only a limited amount of the picture you can see, you are 100% into that angle of the picture.

Sifu: But for your wisdom, you will not see things as random anymore. Surely, there is always causation.

GD: Yes.

Sifu: But blind consciousness will take it as random. Soooo… wow. So, unlimited changing but nothing is random—that’s another incredible of this system of life.

GD: Yes, crazy incredible.

Sifu: What else is incredible that you are aware of?

GD: That you can feel the other life. Essence is so similar—or no form—so you can feel the other and be aware of the other, but then you are separate from the other. Which is just crazy.

Sifu: Oh okay—you are separate from the other, but you can be aware of them. Okay, that’s not the same, no different.
We have same essence so we can understand each other. And we are different, so we can be aware there’s something different. Has to be this way.

GD: Yes, has to be this way or there is no connection between life.
Well—I don’t even know if there would be space, because of the consciousness separation.

Sifu: Has to be this way or there is no chance to have life. Not aware of anything. No understanding each other, understanding anything.
Even animals have fear because they can be aware of the other. So the awareness has to be right away there—aware of others.
But at the end, they are all the same essence—no form. How crazy is that?

GD: Yes, because right away—something with no form—how can you say it’s separate from another form? Which is like—what??

Sifu: Wow. Doesn’t make sense, right? No form can’t be separate. In one way, haha.
Well, we are through the temporary form to feel separate.

GD: Haha, well like Buddha and Bodhisattva—that’s how you can also be aware of every life.

Sifu: So that’s why Buddha and Bodhisattva can be aware of every life—because of the same essence.

GD: Yep.

Sifu: So, if we are back to essence, we can be aware of every life too.

GD: Well, I think there are levels to it, because there would be so much information for the heart to handle in one moment.
Imagine suddenly feeling or hearing all the pain from unlimited consciousness in hell?

Sifu: Oh no, that would be crazy. We can’t even handle ourselves. Can’t even handle our own feelings.

GD: Nah, no way—we can’t even handle our own nonsense.
So imagine that—aware of all of them.

Sifu: Wow, heart would have to be really empty. Really no “I.”

GD: So that’s another reason why life is incredible—allows you to be aware in a certain boundary or way.

Sifu: Wooow—so that way, you can slowly, slowly develop. That way, you can handle it step by step.

GD: Yeah—or what that heart wants to handle, what it thinks is right, what it wants to create.

Sifu: So that’s incredibly kind—to have this protection.

GD: Yeah. Or just incredible in itself. I don’t know how it works or what it is—if it’s our own heart.

Sifu: So then Buddha and Bodhisattva’s heart is another incredible—to be aware of all.
Then they say we can develop that. That’s another double incredible.

GD: Yes, and then the way they help you is not even through ego—which is already incredible.
No force, simply teaching you the Dharma and helping you be aware.
Even the way you receive it is incredible—and such an illusion in itself.

Sifu: Wow—so many layers of incredible already.

GD: Yeah—like how am I hearing philosophy from you, that you’re translating from Chinese in a book?
Chinese that most highly educated Chinese people can’t even read or understand.
From a book from thousands of years ago, taught from Siddhartha—what kind of kindness and protection force has helped that get all the way to here? That’s incredible.

Sifu: Especially as humans have such a greedy and brutal history.

GD: Yeah, exactly.

Sifu: And the pure wisdom to stay is just difficult.

GD: Yep.

Sifu: That was a deep, deep, large layer of understanding incredible.
