Tai Chi: Ten Advanced Disciplines

  1. Hand flow: charge energy from chakras and spring, point wait for the energy to flow before moving the hand.
  2. Rotation discipline: before, during, and after any rotation keep shooting energy up from the spring point and seven chakras.
  3. Sinking move: sink naturally, waiting for the force of gravity, meanwhile remain shooting the energy up through the centre. Once the knee is over the toe, then directly move. Whichever leg is bent and grounded should have most of the body weight.
  4. Rising move: in any move lifting one leg, the energy needs to move directly up without any break or sinking again.
  5. Shifting move: in any shift of the leg, the energy needs to remain steady in the centre while the leg moves. The discipline is the same as rotation.
  6. Three-dimensional step: any movement of the leg needs to be in 3d, not just forward and back or left and right.
  7. Pose function awareness: every move needs to have a clear angle of the body and leg; once that angle is reached, there should be no further adjustment.
  8. Strength of attack: the strongest point is always in the middle before the full extension. After the attack point, flow lightly.
  9. After the half-way strength of attack flow by stretching the knuckles.
  10. Each flow is with one of the five hand points.
